what's proper etiquette? my boss is on vacation until the 4th and I'm putting in my notice today. I've already drafted the LOR but wanted to call him first to give him a heads up, just as a courtesy. from there do I just email him the resignation and copy HR on it? never done this before so pardon my ignorance.

Even if he doesn't get it within the next few days if he's a reasonable person I'm sure he'd understand why and wouldn't feel as if you're blindsiding him. He's a boss. Not a best friend?Originally posted by lowthreeohz View PostI called his work phone earlier but didn't get an answer. waiting to get his personal number from a coworker and will try again, as I don't want to blindside him with this when he returns.
good idea on copying myself on it, didn't think about that.

he's a friend as well. I don't want to burn any bridges here so I'm trying to go about it in a manner that leaves the door open for the future.Originally posted by SS Junk View PostEven if he doesn't get it within the next few days if he's a reasonable person I'm sure he'd understand why and wouldn't feel as if you're blindsiding him.
