3G is a reference to the section of the criminal code in Texas dealing with violent crimes. Some 3g offenses aren't necessarily violent crimes but most violent crimes are 3g offenses. There are a couple of officers on this board that definitely have more familiarity with what is and isn't 3g and maybe they can explain it better than I can.
