I work in Irving so I use mine everyday...Law dont play....I think my only real problem is I yield at stop signs....but rarely go over the speed limit in my truck. It's too big for me so I keep it 5 mph under all the time. I think I've taken it over 70 one time.

Depends on the frequencies those creature comforts use. X-band is one of the most generic and creates the most false alarms and became obsolete by the late 80’s. This author seems like the kind of individual who believes just having a detector means guaranteed protection.Originally posted by scootro View PostRadar Detectors are Useless Now

Last time I remember even have one was back around 2007 or 2008...haven't needed one because I usually only go around 5 over on the freeways..in most places that's close to 75mph which is plenty fast enough to get around. Haven't had a speeding ticket since the same time.

run a v1 in the car and truck. there is one sound it makes and you know to slow down. all the others are mostly the new cars.
i have the new escort 360 max super duper whatever in the wife’s ride because it has an app. she likes apps. it seems as good as the v1.
i speed like a true bro, so the extra time i get to scrub speed is nice.

I still have several laying around.... none have been used in the past many years.
They're kinda like the 10-15 old cell phones we've got hidden away in a junk drawer... no need to keep 'em but just can't bring myself to throw 'em in the trash.

I've had a Valentine V1 for close to 20 years now. It's updatable and I've sent it in only once. Only time I've ever gotten a ticket was when speeding alone on the road, which has happened twice. It's more than paid for itself in the time I've owned it. Safe bet is to keep it 5 MPH over the speed limit. Unfortunately I have trouble doing that.

Had one back in the day. These days I just pretty much drive the speed limit. It's just more peaceful to not sweat it and it's pretty much never worth speeding just to get somewhere a few minutes earlier. I'm usually early wherever I'm going anyway. I leave early because I hate being late.
