Trying to get a dog from San Francisco airport to Waco Airport if possible or DFW. Is it as easy as buying a crate and a ticket and sending him on his way or do you have to go thru an animal shipper?

The only ones I've seen are scams selling Huskies that they will ship. Good luck.Originally posted by 4EyedTurd View PostTrying to get a dog from San Francisco airport to Waco Airport if possible or DFW. Yes, it is. You should consult a Vet before you ship a dog. They can prescribe sedatives for travel to ease the anxiety for them. I personally wouldn't ship a dog anywhere commercially. If you just toss them in a cage or kennel and put them onboard a aircraft without medication they will panic the whole time. I don't think that is a very nice thing to do. The noise you are hearing is 4x louder to them.Originally posted by txstangnut View Postcheck with the airlines. The ship dogs all the time. Can be pretty tramatic for them.

According to DoT statistics, 26 animals died while being transported on planes in 2016, a rate of 0.5 per 10,000 animals transported. A third of those deaths occurred on United Airlines – nine animals (2.11 deaths or injuries per 10,000), and another 14 were injured.Apr 27, 2017Originally posted by 32vfromhell View PostThe death rate for air cargo animals is appalling. I think United is one of the worst.
It's not that bad, but I wouldn't ship an animal.
