I am looking for a fuel tank for my roto tiller and they are sold out or not available ANYWHERE. Can anyone find this for me? I am pretty sure I have searched the internet to the end with no luck.

I saw that one, but it wont work. Linkages and mounts for the carb don't line up. Thanks though.Originally posted by jw33 View Post

The thing of it is I got it for free, so I found a new Carb for 20 dollars and it also needs a gas tank. If I can’t get the gas tank then the tiller is worth scrap and it looks as if I can’t locate one so it’s probably a lost cause.Originally posted by Big A View PostYou can buy an electric tiller for that, and new gas ones aren't much more. Is the tank not repairable?

If you're trying to restore it to new condition I guess I would understand spending that kind of money but if you're just trying to get it working I'm truly astounded you would spend that much money when you can get onn Craigslist or Offer up and find complete running engines for cheap that would bolt right on there or for that matter you could buy a running tiller.
There are lawnmower/small engine repair shops all over the metroplex that have parts that you could use.

Well when I first started looking I didn't realize how expensive it was since a replacement carb was just 18 bucks. That being said I moved to this house out in the country and it was left in the shed so it was free in a sense. Once I realized it didn't work I figured i could throw a new carb and fuel tank on it. The tank is also non-usable now. It is a gamble too because I don't know if it will work, but lots of people have replaced these items to success as I've read. The soil here is kind of rough/rocky and deep roots in areas as well so I can't cheap out and get a small or electric tiller, probably wouldn't do the job.Originally posted by ram57ta View PostIf you're trying to restore it to new condition I guess I would understand spending that kind of money but if you're just trying to get it working I'm truly astounded you would spend that much money when you can get onn Craigslist or Offer up and find complete running engines for cheap that would bolt right on there or for that matter you could buy a running tiller.

You might be on to something though with a used whole engine. I hadn't thought about that, but definitely an option although the skill level is probably beyond my knowledge.
Theres two tanks in that first craigslist ad you posted that look identical, but I'm sure he doesn't ship to Alabama.

Correct, in my experience I’ve learned that sitting can be a small engines worst enemy.Originally posted by Big A View PostIf that doesn't work out, I'd look into making a similar tank work before doing a complete engine swap, unless you come across an exact match. Far less complicated, though in your shoes, I'd buy a new tiller before spending time on either."PSH!!!"

Well after looking further into it it might cost too much or at least be a pain in my ass to ship a used gas container so I nixed that idea. If I can get the carb out of the gas tank without ruining it then I will just spend the $20 on a new carb and reuse my gas tank. If not, off to the scrap pile it goes. I need to till a new garden here soon so I can’t just wait for a tank to pop up. Looking at making a half acre garden.
