I don't see that happening. Not enough people, myself included, to give a shit enough to even pick up an Android phone. There is a reason release after release since the inception, each iPhone model has had weeks of back orders. You can walk into any T-Mo and buy one get one free any of the Samsungs.....Originally posted by Hmbre97 View PostCaptivate or anything with Android on it. The iPhone will someday go the way of the Mac computer. There will still be a niche market for it but Android will eventually become the "Microsoft" of mobile phone software.

Uhh, it isn't that big..Originally posted by Chopped54 View PostHOLY SHIT!
That Captivate is one big bitch!
Like carrying around a fucking iPad....

What are you talking about? Android has already passed Apple in phone sales, most of the app developers that used to do just apple are coming over to android market, where more people are more likely to purchase apps from the developers.Originally posted by Chopped54 View PostI don't see that happening. OP, get a captivate, then root it and put 2.2 on it.

I've played with an android phone and I liked it. But I wouldn't suggest it without a more-than-average knowledge of computers. If you're looking for a phone that will be a phone and do some other cool things when you need it to without any hassle, go for the iP4. My iPhone is pretty much glued to my hand.Originally posted by 56482only on DFWMUstangs...

I've heard the captivates are awesome. I have an iPhone4 that's not activated but I can still do anything with it minus make calls/do shit out of wifi. It's pretty neat. Interwebz are quick with wifi(except dfwstangs) and the screen resolution is amazing."Any dog under 50lbs is a cat and cats are pointless." - Ron Swanson

Does not look near as big with a comparison as it did online, no bigger then my iP4 with an Otterbox....
How can you even compare Android and iPhone sales? That is like saying Ford sold more vehicles then the Camaro.
Loyalty is also higher in iPhone owners, 89% compared to Droids 71%
Another downside with the Droid phones is battery life. I have heard 3-6 hours charge time. I can usually go a day and a half using my iphone full use...Last edited by Chopped54; 11-16-2010, 04:59 PM.

While Android platform may have started to outsell the Iphone, it really is not a fair comparison. Android has more than one carrier and more than one phone. If/When the Iphone goes to Verizon, I think there is going to be a sharp increase in Iphone sales over the Android.Originally posted by 90GT50 View PostUhh, it isn't that big..

I have played around with both and still prefer the Iphone. My cousin tried getting me to switch to the Evo like he had, and he ended up dumping the Evo for the Iphone.
I have jailbroken mine....love it. Very easy to customize, I can now get the apps not approved in the Apple store, and download free apps if I want to. Honestly though, I havent found that much on the phone to download.

In my opinion I'd rather have an open source phone so I change the phone around how I like, and not have to jailbreak to do it. Sure, my phone is rooted and has newer firmware, but 99% of the stuff I've done to the phone can be done without rooting, and with 2.1. I just don't see a point in staying with 2.1 when the newer version is already out there. It only takes about 10 mins to change everything over anyways.Originally posted by Chopped54 View PostDoes not look near as big with a comparison as it did online....

I don't know who told you that, my phone is overclocked and can still last all day with heavy use. There are several battery saving apps you can get as well, ones that disconnect the data connection when the phone is asleep, etc. I've been using my phone a decent amount today and still have 45% left. I used it earlier as an aux input for music in the car, and used it for an hour as a wireless router, then used it to get around a block for photobucket to post those pics, too. lol.Originally posted by Chopped54 View PostAnother downside with the Droid phones is battery life.
