My SVT focus is a great daily. I'll avg 28-30mpg depending on driving style and it handles great. Could use more low end but pulls well to 7200.

Whats a good daily / fun car for cheap?
with gas prices going through the roof, its getting expensive driving my truck back and forth to work everyday. Was talking with the wife about maybe getting a little car as a daily that gets better gas mileage. Not looking to spend alot, maybe around $5k give or take a little. Not looking for a prius type of car, but something that is still halfway "cool" and maybe even can fix it up a bit... was thinking maybe a Porsche 944, looks like they get 20+ mpg but parts seem expensive... looking for alternatives like that... thanks
