What are you talking about? You know tmobile and att have the same exact towers, right? Just different bands for 3g and 4g, edge is exactly the same. If tmobile towers somehow go down, it will automatically connect to the nearest tower, whether it be att or tmobile.

Not sure what you're getting at. Do you mean they each have their own equipment on the same towers, or are you just saying they use the same equipment? Multiple carriers can ride on the same towers, but none of them outright share equipment unless it's done through roaming and stuff like that.
