I would rather a "piece of my check" go to someone who gets off their ass and works (as a subsidy) than a "piece of my check" go to some POS that sits around and pops out kids so she doesn't have to work at all. And then that POS has a baby daddy that lives with her and steals/sells dope and drives an Escalade with 26" rims.

As far as the China imports - they leave out a fourth item.

The stuff may be manufactured over there, but its created, developed/engineered and marketed here in the States. Majority of the actual money stays here in the US.

Sucks for those in manufacturing, but outsourcing the manufacturing side is just an economic reality. The cheaper it costs to build, the more profit and more successful you can become.

(One of my clients has Walmart as a major vendor for their product - and export all their mfg to China. They are only a 60 person firm, but they do all of the creative/accounting/adminsitration work and are well paid across the board - expanding/growing like crazy too)

I will not go to the one on 183 anymore.. The one on 635 wasn't too bad the last time I went, though it has been a couple of years.

    This.

9-10pm shopping = in and out. No crowds. And I find the stockers at night are friendlier and actually know where crap is.

This. Dollar wise, I'm sure HEB is nearly on the same level as wal-mart.

I've been inside wal-mart 3 times in the last 6 months. And once was to get a free battery.

I was in the grocery store yesterday after work grabbing a some beer for after our MTB ride and the guy in front of me in line had 3 items on the cart.

    1 loaf of bread
    2 liter cream soda
    1 can of dog food

    And he paid in quarters.

In my mind I pictured him sitting indian style on the floor, eating a dog food sandwich and washing it down with cream soda and damn near died laughing right there behind him.

This opens the chance to tell him he forgot his ephedrine and lye as I watch the color run from his face.

HEB is by far the best grocery store, the only thing I go to wal mart for is bullets and if I need something in the middle of the night. Never groceries

Engine oil and Motorcraft oil fiters are cheaper there than anywhere esle, as well as WD40, brake cleaner, antifreeze, hand cleaner, ect. That's all I give a fuck about. So I will continue to shop there.
