There are several off-brands of the BFG Mud Terrains. Sardis Tire & Wheel sells one of them for very reasonable.Originally posted by the spindoctor View Postmight want to check out general grabber at2's, very similar to the bfg's, but tons cheaper. i've had them on my tacoma for 51k and very happy with them. they're quiet and drive pretty good. i'll be getting another set before winter rolls around.

This is my daily driver. The truck wont see much off roading outside of going to the range and 4wheeling/atv.Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostThe OP didn't say what the majority of the use would be, therefore I conditionally stated my opinion.
My truck was a weekend hauling lumber/chores/river truck. It got about 6-8 mpg and was intended to get me to the river and back.

What wheels are those? And i agree, wide wheels and 33/12.5 look ghey. ThIs is prolly why i didnt think the wheel tire combo didnt quite click for me. Chili, u thinkin these are 10 wide wheels i have? Regardless, there getting replaced. Just need to know a good width to go withOriginally posted by Chili View PostThat tire width doesn't look bad at all when on a narrower wheel. I have the 33x12.50's on the Bronco and they look great on my 8" wide wheels. I do not like the look of them on 10" wide wheels at all.
I have the BFG's and like them though I kinda wish I had gone with a slightly more aggressive tread.

I would suggest a knock off mud terrain. They are much better than any "all terrain" tire, with the one exception being heavy sand. If you are doing beach excursions, then AT tires have better flotation properties in sand. The mud terrains are designed to dig through the mud and get to a base for traction.Originally posted by Tannerm View PostThis is my daily driver. Yes, I think the wheels you have are 10" based on how they make that tire look. My wheels are just cheap steelies from Discount Tire. I think they are branded as Unique wheels - 15x8's. At $55 a wheel they were the best price I could find.Originally posted by Tannerm View PostWhat wheels are those? And i agree, wide wheels and 33/12.5 look ghey. If he stays with a 12.5" wide tire even mud terrains should be okay on sand as long as he airs way down. Close on the wheels, they are basically the same as the Soft 8's.. Hell, they're probably made by the same company. I think I said earlier, I wish I would have stuck with a Mud terrain, or at least a more aggressive AT, but these were probably the better choice since most of my driving is on pavement also.Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostI would suggest a knock off mud terrain. Did you miss the part about this being his daily driver? If you care anything about road noise, fuel mileage, or how long they will last... do not get mud terrains.Originally posted by 03trubluGT View PostI would suggest a knock off mud terrain.
