Its not just one website, it depends on what you are looking for. I do not have a certain website that I go to just for car parts or one for electronics. It takes shopping around, Sometimes I can spend around a week off and on searching for the right deal on stuff.

I guess everyone? I shop around for a while for the best deal then use price-matching/competitor coupon to get it even better.

Agreed. Jegs has been slow lately so I switched and Summit seems much more efficient shipping stuff....

If you guys are price matching between jegs and summit your are not going to save much if anything. Just do a Google search for whatever you are in the market for, spend a little time shopping around, and 90% of them time(which is damn good odds) You can find anything you need for a steep discount over places like that. Places that do not have the overhead like jegs or summit do. Places that are not locked into agreements to sell certain items at a certain price etc.... I am telling you I NEVER buy anything retail unless it is just cheap to start with or its an emergency. I promise you everything I buy online is anywhere from a 30-50% discount over big box stores or places like, summit, crutchfield, etc... Yes you pay shipping but almost never pay sales tax so its a wash. I probly have anywhere from 5-20 boxes a month show up here at the house and I have been doing this for near 10 years now. I am not talking small ticket items either, I am talking guns, high end electronics, tools, wheels and tires, home appliances, car parts, the list goes on......

I can make up bogus statistics too.

I too shop my parts via google (as you suggested) and %14356 of the time Jegs/Summit are within a few bucks of whoever else I'm checking out. If It costs me and extra $5 to buy from Summit then I will because of the customer service and I know I can trust them with my order and my information.

Sometimes they don't have the part I'm looking for, then I go to yearone rockwauto, and other similar websites, but most of the time if it's performance related summit/jegs cant be beat unless you price match or have a coupon/killer deal.

Ok, Here is the latest example of something that I bought.

I bought a compressor for my garage at home. The cheapest I could find it at a store was at northern for $599.99 it does have free shipping now but at the time I was trying to buy there was a $50 freight charge and I would of had to pay sales tax which would of made it $699.49

The seller has since raised the price to $650. I bought it in time to save around 30%

When we were going through the motor on my father in laws camaro I bought near all of the stuff on eBay. I saved $400 on the same set of AFR heads over summits prices. I saved $30-$50 on each valve train component that I bought as well, camshaft, lifters, pushrods, rocker arms, timing chain, ARP head bolts, etc... Now not all of these were of at least a 25% savings but some were and over the entire purchase we saved over 1k. Like I said earlier this does not work for EVERYTHING but it does work on a bunch of stuff.

I think we all price shop and I will do the same thing as above to avoid tax/shipping.

I find it hard to believe you find things 30-50% cheaper than Summit. They have a one time shipping fee (unless freight is required) and no tax.
