I wish. No, this class is "Introduction to Automatic Controls". The material (differential equations, feedback loops, root locus plots, bode/phase plots...) isn't too difficult but the tests take twice as long as the time allotted and we can't use calculators.

Yeah, I suppose I misspoke (go figure...). Communication skills are very helpful, however, and what I meant to express was, engineers are notoriously poor at it. This is, of course, a bit of a stereotype but, as we all know, stereotypes exist for a reason.Originally posted by Strychnine View PostDisagree.
Technical writing and public speaking are two skills I would consider invaluable. If your job puts you in the position to send emails or verbally convey your ideas to any sort of outsider then you need to be able to communicate effectively and accurately... and people notice spelling.

My summer and fall registration was in March.
What sucks is I found out I won't be able to graduate with my masters until next Spring since they decided the last class I need didn't need to be offered in the fall. Fuckers.Token Split Tail

I was thinking the same thing. I have had college algebra, trig, pre-calc, cal 1, 2, 3 and now DiffEq. But I don't think he is engineering. His might be a technical degree.Originally posted by Taylor View PostSeems strange to me that you can enroll in the above classes without at least passing Algebra

Actually, I do have to communicate with many people everyday in engineering. Think gawd four speel √.Originally posted by Strychnine View PostDisagree.

I never had a problem with it. I was typically better than most of my business, history, art, and other major friends.Originally posted by SlowLX View PostMake your average engineer talk to a random girl for 5 minutes without talking about their chosen profession and see how well it works out.
Everyone is different, but I know a shit load of engineers that have great social skills.

Just algebra for me. None of the other few classes I need are offered in the summer session, or at least not during the normal dates. Soooo, I guess instead of graduating at the end of fall, it will be the end of next spring."It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

Actually, Trig is a prerequisite for some of the classes I'm in now, and I havnt even had alegebra. I don't know how they allow it, but there are several people in my same situation.Originally posted by TexasDevilDog View PostI was thinking the same thing.
