you need a scaner with live data to see witch cylinders are misfireing. if fuel pressure regulator or a branch of fuel injector spider is leaking the fuel is sprayed on the intake and will do a multiple misfire. you realy need to see if the fuel pressure is holding after you turn off the ignition key.you can not loose more then 5 psi in 1 min. and the next step is to do a compression test, if the car was sit for 2 years possible the valves are not seal anymore, and loosing compression.

the easiest way to see if the spider is leaking is sticking a mirror down the throttle body and look if anything is soaking.Just have someone hold the pedal to the floor and shine a light down there and look around with a pocket mirror.you should be able to tell, especially if u get hit with a strong gas smell as soon as u open the blade

can the distributor be re built? or should I just get a reman?

Check for vacuum leaks like the PCV lines and the intake gaskets
