  • speedo going nuts

    ok, gave up on the power locks after realizing i would have to tear apart the whole dash and when the speedo started acting weird on my 99 f350 diesel

    New problems;
    Speedo goes to 0 with throttle pedal application but registers an accurate speed when coasting
    ABS light on
    No cruise control

    This all started after a long drive so I'm guessing something came loose or got frayed. I haven't traced the VSS wire because it seems to work, just not when you press the go pedal.

    I tried cleaning and then replacing the VSS in the rear end with no fix.
    I really don't know what else could be causing this.

    Any suggestions?

    Maybe a TPS? Does a diesel have TPS?

    I havent had this particular problem, but a diesel does have an apps switch or tps on the pedal for that application

      hmmmm, anyone have any ideas?

      also get the occasional od light flashing, though the trans shifts perfect and the temp is never over 160.

      It only has one optima yellow top (not my doing). Could this cause it? Any fuses to check? Any sensors that could cause it?
