That looks completely after-market, see if it un-screws, and if not, pull it out.

If for whatever reason it's bolted to the valve cover, pull the VC to un-bolt, or find a hose big enough, and connect the PCV to it.

I've been out of the 4.6 game for quite a while now, so I didn't know. Even still, I wouldnt' think that it's a part that hard to figure out.

Trying to twist both ways would solve the problem before needing to make a thread, so I thought that it might be an after-market piece of some kind.

Gotcha, a lot of the emissions connections have gone to a quick connect setup. I'm seeing it on most all the makes I can think of, they'll have a molded plastic line with a fitting on each end. It dies away with the rubber that eventually deteriorated, now just have plastic to get brittle and break lol

tried pulling, twisting, and prying before i made this thread. i just wanted to see the correct way so i didn't break it off and have pieces of plastic in my valve train.

aparently you haven't tried removing the valve cover to avoid it.

well no shit. making the thread and asking someone who knows is way easier. hence the reason i made the thread. plus i just dropped the motor in yesterday and the last thing i wanted to do is to have to remove the valve cover.
