I had XM radio in my first car (volvo wag00n) that did this. My buddy had a FM transmitter that did this for his iphone.

Both sounded spotty. Bandwidth through FM is pretty crappy in reality.

hmm might take it back then. i have had one for 6 months to put in my truck and still haven't installed it. lol.

i had an FM wireless transmitter that was garbage, but i bought this one because it is actually hardwired to the antenna of the factory stereo so i figured it might work better.

It'll sound good, but it won't sound as good as an audio in. Before the signal goes out, it is basically "analogly" compressed. Passed through a bunch of LC circuits to remove the highs and lows.

It basically sounds like the best FM signal you will ever get....no where near what a direct connection is capable of.
Try it out before you return it though.
