Long story short, my MIL is being told her intake is bad on her 2000 Impala. They told her it is cracked. Are these plastic? She says she is smelling gas in her car, if that makes any sense. I can't see first hand since she doesn't live near here.

How much does it normally cost to replace the intake on these?

Common problem. Dorman makes a new one.

Not sure which engine it is.

I actually just got done talking to her. She said the mechanic found out it was, in her words, "a valve in the fuel line". Not the intake manifold.

They charged her ass 455.00 total. $275 in labor. I am starting to wonder what they really did.
