Pulling the head is free. I would put a straight edge on it and see where it's at. That and the block. If it's fucked, new motor time.

I thought about that but was told it got so hot that it did damage inside and don't want to put a head gasket and then have tO pull the motor

Why not just replace the head gasket?

I got an 04 Neon for 500 bucks but has a blown head gasket. What do you think I used motor for it would cost me
