  • Bellhousing to Engine Bolts

I need to know the size and thread of the bolts. I misplaced mine and need some for my engine stand. I got a 302 block and where I can get some

I found some grade 8s at lowes that worked great for my 302. they are 7/16 diameter and 2.5" long. Have a "JH" stamped on the end if that helps.

Don't worry about what you can't change.
Do the best you can with what you have.
Be honest, even if it hurts.

Yep, 7/16 dia. by 14 pitch. Lenght will vary with bellhousing and bolt location.

Just an FYI, the 2 top most bolts need to be short. If you ever need to pull the bellhousing off with the motor sill in the car and the top 2 bolts are long you won't be able to get them out 'cause the will hit the firewall.

Therefore you can't remove the bellhousing.

        Experience is a great teacher

Most hardware / parthouses stores have them.
