  • Squeaky Pulley

I have an idler pulley that is squealing pretty loud ...

I have replaced the pulley and still making the same noise.. I know its this pulley because I can spray WD-40 on it and it goes quiet but soon starts squealing again.

    any other ideas?

did you change the belt whenever you changed the pulley?

Its not the pulley home skillet. Its the belt.

the belt doesnt look old .. I'll try it and see but what gets me is that it stops squeaking when I spray the center of the pulley with WD-40 so thats why I thought it was still the pulley ,,, I hope it works

I had a squeeky pulley recently and though the same thing. Even isolated it to an idler pulley as you did. I just knew that the belt was still good and lived with it for a while.....until the belt broke on 635 one morning. Replaced the belt and no more squeak.

If it truly is the pull take the belt off and spin the pulley by hand and it will be rough to turn or even make noise when turning by hand.

It's the belt, not the pulley. Had the same issue. Switched to a Gatorback quiet belt and problem solved.

One of the best damn belts out there if not the best, kinda pricey.
