Windor sr. Heads and a f-303 cam ?

F cam in a 306 isn't going to make a lot of low end torque. I would look for something like else. A SR head uses a 200 cc runner and a 2.02 intake valve. I would look into a custom grind camshaft if you plan on keeping the car together for a long time like this. You'll spend a few hundred bucks now but will forget all about it when you fire it up and take it for a ride assuming everything is matched right versus thrown together bunch of parts. Bullet cams is a good place to talk to and Ed Curtis @ FTI is another top notch cam designer.

Custom cams run about $350-$375. So figure about $250 more than a used F cam but far better performance.

3.73 gears for the best results over all. 4.10's if you do more short trips and want the best acceleration. Milling the heads for a little more compression is a good idea but keep in mind it also reduces piston to valve clearances so check them closely especially on the exhaust valve.

And 100 shot of giggle gas wouldn't hurt either!Originally posted by Baron View PostWill it work? Yes. Is it the best combo? No.

They will work depending on how big of a cam you are running. I had to remove the oil baffles on my stock 1968 valve covers to clear the rockers. If you do mill your heads make sure the intake ports line up with the intake ports on your heads. Mine ended up with a port mismatch and I had to port match the heads to the intake.Originally posted by uglydogo View PostOk I'm going to check the size of the chambers. See what it needs to be milled. And run what I got. The hell with it. Lol. But I have one more question will stock valve covers work on my windor sr's? If not does anyone have any to sell?
