  • suspension questions

As of now, I am not going to have the money to buy nice aftermarket parts or performance parts for the suspension. However, my suspension is so wore out, its like driving a wet noodles not to mention the smallest crack in the road makes a hard hit and i don't want anything, like the dash for example, breaking on me. I can afford to throw some stock stuff on it for the time being to help make the ride more enjoyable and help to take some edge off the hits it takes. Will shocks and struts help significantly? Are there any bushings or anything that will help? I need to stick with oem stuff for now but the ride is really rough. Thanks

If the shocks and struts have a lot of miles on them I would say replace them. Look over the rest of suspension for wear/ damage and get a good alignment when done.
      Some cars and a bike...

Some say... they have been raced, some a lot

I know mine to be bad. Are shocks and struts a usual culprit to hard, rough rides?

No. If they are bad, it would float/bounce more. Cut stock springs or really low lowering springs will cause rough rides.

Cheap shocks / struts will cause a rough ride also.

Well mine are shot plus I have 4 cylinder springs with the added weight of a 351. Ive already noticed the instrument bezel started to rattle and I believe the rough rude has more than likely broken one of the tabs.

It's my daily so we'd have to swap in your garage.

nope, with a better set of springs and shocks it will be a complete different car
