  • 97 f150 misfire

it is the 4.2l 6 cylinder. ran the codes and it has a #2 cylinder misfire. from my understanding of the distributorless ignition system it has, it consists of 3 different coils that fire 2 cylinders at once, one at the bottom of the stroke, yielding it useless and firing the other cylinder. with that being said, is it safe to assume the coils are not the culprit since it only has a miss in one cylinder? would an injector be the best place to start?
    thanks

Plug and wire more likely , then coil then injector .

was either the coil pack or plug wires. replaced both for a friend and got her back on the road
