  • T5 seal

Just wanna confirm my suspicions. My tailshaft seal appeared to b leaking a drip or two when parked. Not much. It looks like its coming from the seal. I drove her today to ride my bike and get gas. Nothing new. Fast forward 7 hours and now I'm leaving to Goto wok and there is a huge stain on my driveway from that shit... I understand there is the seal on the outside of the tail, but there is also a seal or ring that goes bad on the output shaft inside the tailshaft housing. From what I hv described, which is it? Thx

Oh and the stain rocks because it's synchromesh and stains like oil. Yay...

Should be another seal up in there. On the M5OD there is a small seal that goes on the output shaft.

          Tail shaft rear seal.

Az has them. If they say they dont have on, get one for a ranger. It'll work.

The seal on a T5 is also the same as a AOD, a C4, a TH350 and a GM or Ford T56. I believe the other part you are referring to is the tail housing bushing which support the drive shaft yoke.

If the seal is leaking, its a good idea to change the bushing as well. I would also closely inspect the yoke for wear.
