  • cylinder order

Assuming I have the original engine in my car, what is the cylinder order? I pulled the plugs on the passenger side and the 3rd one from the front was drenched with oil. I'm curious what # it is. Also, I'm thinking maybe the head gasket is the problem. Ideas?

Details on the car would be the first place to start, if its a Ford v8 passenger side is 1-4 and driver side is 5-8. So your cylinder in question would be number 3.

If its a 4 valve motor its probably just a valve cover gasket. They leak oil in the plug holes from time to time. If not well it could be a head gasket or real bad rings, maybe bad valve guide. It would also likely run horribly
