Especially in comparison to the new 5.0's? I was thinking about picking one up shortly after AIT as a treat to myself considering they are going for $25-$30 right now. 5.0's can be had for around $20k and change. Any owners here?

That's a good question. I've been on the fence lately between buying a low mileage 1993 cobra or a gt500. I'm leaning more towards the 93 because their value is stable and should go up. Where the GT500 will only go down in value for years to come. The only problem I have is finding a 93 cobra. I've been close twice and both times the sellers flaked out hours before the deal was suppose to go down.

Well if things go the right way I'll have both along with a 65 or 66 fastback. Only thing holding me back right now is space. Hopefully that changes soon. I just figured I'd buy the 93 cobra first as that will be the hardest to find. I'm finding that I was right. I've got a line on a teal grey car with 11k miles the only problem is it's a sun roof car. Still trying to decide if I can over come that or not.Originally posted by 89gt-stanger View PostI would hands down go for a teal/black 93 over any Shelby

I can't comment on how they compare to the new 5.0s but I love my 2009 GT500. I've owned 2 in the last 3 years and have nothing but praises for them. The 2007 model does have the clutch and harmonic balancer issues but other than that I think you'll be fine mechanically speaking.

You can rent a little warehouse cheap as fuck. If you can afford to buy all those cars at once, you can afford to rent storage space for them.Originally posted by FreightTrain View PostWell if things go the right way I'll have both along with a 65 or 66 fastback. The plan is to build a new house with a stand alone 3 car garage. That way I can roll up the doors and sit in a lawn chair with a cold beer and just look at the cars. Don't even care to drive them. My last low mileage foxbody I owned for about 3 years and only put 800 miles on it. That's because my wife was always bitching to go for a ride.Originally posted by Yale View PostYou can rent a little warehouse cheap as fuck. It's going to be sitting at my permanent duy station wherever that may be. Not going to be going to the track, especially if there isn't one within a reasonable distance. Basically just a dd, looking to get around 700@wheels.Originally posted by Rlhay2 View PostIs it to be a DD? track car? or drag car?
Stock vs stock, the 5.0 gets the nod. As it should since it is the newer platform. The GT500 responds better to bolt-ons.
And if it really matters, money isn't really a big deal. I'm thinking if I go shelby, the motor is going to be pulled and redone anyways.
