I got access to two brand new 012 model T56 units. These come with a 10 spline input shaft, 31 spline output shaft, mechanical speedometer and a Windsor bolt pattern bell housing with 9 o'clock fork position. These have been discountinued for a few years and the ones I can get are new old stock.Originally posted by elongoria View PostAny threads here already on what it takes to put a 6 SPD in a fox? They are $2750 shipped to your door. If its worth it to you, shoot me a PM. You'll still need a crossmember, 31 spline yoke and shorten the driveshaft a little bit.

I think its a pretty cool swap and have been thinking about doing it on my 95gt..I think there are a few companys (D&D).that sell complete conversion kits for around 3,500...You could prolly piece it together yourself for around 2,000 using used parts
Edit:http://www.ddperformance.com/shop/in...p?cPath=108_96 They are 4,300

I built one for my 94Gt with a 393W and its pretty cool. I'm running 3.73's and probably should have went to a 4.10 but its a handful as it is so maybe not.Originally posted by kbscobravert View Post<----put a T56 (viper spec'd), quicktime bell, aluminum flywheel, zoom twin disc in my '95. Love it with the Turbo and 3.27 gears.

I do this stuff for a living. Buying a GM T56 and trying to convert it to work in a Ford isn't going to be cheap and a huge pain in the ass for someone who doesn't do it on a daily basis. Easiest route is finding a Cobra unit, using a Quicktime bell housing and not having a speedometer.Originally posted by black50 View PostI think its a pretty cool swap and have been thinking about doing it on my 95gt..I think there are a few companys (D&D).that sell complete conversion kits for around 3,500...You could prolly piece it together yourself for around 2,000 using used parts

600rwhp and in 6th gear we are putting along at 70 and roughly 1600-1700rpms. Much fun. Now I am thinking about fucking it up and going with an auto.Originally posted by thesource View PostI built one for my 94Gt with a 393W and its pretty cool. I'm about 1800rpms going into 6th at 70. Problem is, with a big camshaft, anything under that rpm doesn't operate very well. I usually cruise in 5th unless I'm running 80+ mph. At a 100 mph, having a 6th gear is awesome.Originally posted by kbscobravert View Post600rwhp and in 6th gear we are putting along at 70 and roughly 1600-1700rpms. Much fun. By the way, only custom built Viper spec units and GM's came with the .50 6th gear. All the Ford units have a .64 6th gear.

Correct. I wanted the .86(?) and the .50 6th gear. When I had the cam built the transmission was taken into consideration as it is a true street car.....when I am not taking it apart.Originally posted by thesource View PostI'm about 1800rpms going into 6th at 70.
