Not an easy swap or what? Just wondering if it would be hard to swap a 5.0 into a 96 4.6

It would be a bitch. You would need a K member, the engine, a transmission, wiring harness, and ECM. If you go back to the old OBD1 computer, then you will lose the ability to get it inspected. In fact if you get a touchy inspector, you might not be able to get it inspected since you have swapped in an older series of engine into a newer car.

The swap can be done rather easily if you know your way around harnesses and wiring. You'd use the explorer/mountaineer top end and a SCT tuner.Originally posted by shumpertdavid View PostThat would help with the year model of car vs year model of motor emissions troubles, but you still contest with all the other factors. Different k member, wiring harnesses won't be close, etc.Originally posted by PGreenCobraI can't get over the fact that you get to go live the rest of your life, knowing that someone made a Halloween costume out of you. im done with verts and the reason i ask is because i found a 96 just the way i want it, minus the 5.0. It has a 4.6 with a ton of miles.Originally posted by ELVIS View Postjust buy my vert.
god bless.
The main reason i want a 5.0 is because i would feel more comfortable working on the engine if or when it is messes up......bro....
