  • Accessory Wires on starter solenoid... Can I combine them?

There are like 4 or so wires that connect at the solenoid (in addition to the battery / alternator cables) that power things like the lights etc...

Can I combine all of them into one wire? It doesn't seem to make much sense to have them all on separate wires going to the same terminal. I'm running my wiring into the fender well, and would like to come out to a junction terminal with only one wire for all of that stuff if possible.

    Thoughts?

These are the wires I'm talking about... Combine them all in the fender well to an 8 gauge wire with 20 amp inline fuse?

should I opt for the inline fuse or just run it without?

Also what gauge wire should I use? I have no idea what the amp draw is on these wires...

I'd keep it separate. Several reasons- 1. Never cut factory wires unless absolutely necessary, 2. Separate will allow you to disconnect one at a time to track down possible future problem 3. Inside fender it will be hidden so no real benefit to combining. 4. See number one- don't cut factory wires if avoidable. No wire needs cut to fender tuck wires.

You can do it with a nice 8 gauge wire. But if you are going to relocate wires.. just relocate the whole thing, solenoid, wires and all.. deffinetly leave factory end terminals as they are fuesed links.

one wire is a fuse link and another is connected to a ckt breaker,
