How much power are you wanting? I have less then $2500 in my complete 347, it made well over 400 rwhp n/a and still got over 20 mpg... I am getting ready to build a budget 302 for a dirt car. Should make around 400 flywheel hp using factory iron heads, a holley 500 cfm carb, flat tappet cam etc... Budget is to stay under $2500 carb to oil pan.

A sbf is not that expensive to build.

I want to spend it once and not have any worries.

Yes stock block, pro comp heads, Anderson cam, victor jr lower spider upper, spun it to 7200 regularly with 0 issues..

Oh for sure, stock block can only handle so much. I was not sure what you end goals are. A nicely built Windsor will easily meet your goals too. I have built many stock block 351w that made 800+ an never had an issue with block problems. To each his own, good luck with the build! Hit me up if you have an ls swap questions. I recently did one to my c10, built the harness and everything so anything I can help out with hit me up.

Absolutely, I did have the guides replaced once due to them prematurely wearin out, so I guess the total is a bit more closer to 3k but as with anything there is good and bad..

Even if this motor you are picking up is free its not worth it. You can find good ones for so cheap there is no point in dealing with one that has issues.
