07 silverado sometimes the ac compressor won't come on. The light flashes. If I floor the truck it automatically comes on and stays on. Why does it do this.

I have the same year model Sierra and haven't had this issue. Although, I have noticed a variation in blower motor speed while driving that I think might be due to my alternator. How has your alt gauge been looking? Mine will fluctuate quite a bit according to the dash gauge.

Check the connectors at the blower motor and resistor, they will start to melt cause high resistance causing draw on the alt and your speed variation problem. GM sells new connectors with pigtails if its starting to melt the plastic. Just pull off the blower motor cover(2 5.5mm screws) and disconnect the connectors at the resistor and blower motor and look at the pins, if you see any melting replace them.Originally posted by GeorgeG.
