I have a bad leak and think its a seal In the tranny. What kind of $$$ would I be looking at having to spend to replace a seal?

It's probably just the o-ring on the plastic plug for the VSS sensor hole. A new O ring will cost you about $.15 and 5 minutes to replace, if that's the culprit. Had that happen on two of my 99&up Fords. It can leak a lot of oil around the pan.

Nope. It's the front seal on the transmission, which makes it much more difficult.Originally posted by mstng86 View PostThe transmission fluid is coming out the bottom though. Out of the black gasket at the bottom of the bellhousing. Would the VSS O ring do that? It's not running down the side.

i dropped it off at the tranny shop and it is the front seal. They want 1600-1700 to fix. Looks like its time to start shopping.
