  • What tires for welds?

Car never sees the track, but I want something to play on the street with. Car is just an occasional go out to eat weekend ride. Looking for something that handles good and has good grip.

The current tires are dry rotted.

They are 275/50 R15 out back and 195/65 R15's in the front.

I like the Nitto 555r in the 275/50/15 in the rear . They handle good wet or dry and are pretty sticky once they get hot . The fronts on your car are skinnies and will never do anything well but go straight no matter what brand they are .

I had good luck with nittos also for daily driving. their extreme drags are cheap and last longer than most drag radials great in rain good street tire. Had 315 35 17 on my coupe and sn95. Track car would go with m/t.

I swore off nittos all together after trying the 555r's. They were terrible. Bought a set of NT05R's after years of not having a nitto and was pleasantly surprised. Not as good as a m/t dr but probably last longer.
