Do not put a dime into a production 302 block. Yuck!!! The internals out strength the block lol!!
The ls should be done with an auto because that's easier, cheaper and faster. If you're wanting to go turbo, just boost a 4.8/5.3L with a cam/springs/lifters and get a good tune for 10-15psi and enjoy the gravy. Should be 600-700hp
At that point the ls swap is done and the value of the car will increase. Lol so if the 4.8/5.3 blows then you're just bolts away from another lsx.

High power and a turbo isn't exactly ideal for a stick shift car.Originally posted by Cobraman View PostI agree. No auto though.
You won't be able to keep up and it'll take a beating on the car, launching it will be next to impossible without a boost controller and two step.
Auto builds boost and keeps boost the entire time.

I like this idea. If ur not looking for the fastest thing or it won't be a all drag car or dig car then just do a blower. But anything like this costs money like stated above. Auto is enjoyable for track purposes. More consistent. I have beaten cars I had no business beating because driver didn't know how to do it at the track. Even the most experienced drivers in a stick make mistakesOriginally posted by Badass2000GT View PostCoyote with twins99 Mustang Project JSTA2V

Modular/proper boost setup is the way i would go. lsx 4.8/5.3 with boost = $$ and time. swapped k and wiring is what the lsx will set you back on IMO.
do it right and go modular with k and custom twins.
you can build a twin kit for around 2500 bucks and still have the cash for fuel setup and tuning.
expect to spend 5k if you want a good setup.
cheap, fast and reliable.. pick 2
