A couple reasons. Firstly I was looking for a clean, new, low mileage motor. For the money the 4.8 was it. The 2007 up 4.8 comes with stronger rods and makes almost the same power as the last gen 5.3 (295-305). I never thought I would either. But it is the smartest option. See what kind of mustang/cobra motor you can find for $1200. Most likely a mark 8 motor with 190k on it that will last 2wks with 10lbs of boost.
