What is the going rate for a low mileage LS3? A guy offered me the one out of his running and driving vette with 37k for $3,800. It seems to be a pretty damn good price, but I haven't done a ton of research.

He's including the wiring harness,, manifolds, all accessories, and of course the complete engine "from oil pan to intake."

I did a google craigslist search for LS3s, and found a ls3 without all the accessories and harness for 1900. It had a cracked intake manifold and corner of the block (where the starter attaches), but other than that it was in good shape.

He just said that he would do 3800 w/o ECM, and 4500 with the ECM. Is it really worth 700?

You should be able to find one of the E38/67 ECMs for less than $200. I think new they may even be right at $200 or so.

For what you are getting yes it is a very good deal... and the E38 you can find sub 200.00 pretty easily
