Dr. Chilton's says that you must remove the "Instrument Panel".

When I go to "Instrument panel removal", it looks like pretty much the whole dash.

Are you sure that the heater core is the problem?

Yep, not too bad to do. Last one took me about 3 hours. Tip, tie the dash up to the cieling

Dash has comes out, if it has the blend door motor behind the glove box. When you get the dash out, remove the motor and see if the part it slides into is cracked any. The blend doors are somewhat common on those to crack out where the motor slides in. The box requires complete replacement if this happens. It's a Ford part that runs 4-500 bucks best I remember.

Yep, dash has to come out, gotta love fords. Well, if it's like the F150, the dash doesn't have to come all the way out, just out of the way enough to reach the box.
