  • Took the jump for 4:56's.

I just decided to not " Fear the Gear" and go 4:56's. They are a good price, and I might as well do it while my parents pick up my gas tab. Problem is i'm still broke as hell and can't afford the install; henceforth they will sit here and mock me until summer. My first paycheck will go straight to the install and some new 315/30 DR's Should wake the cobra up just a tad!

Don't forget to re-calibrate the speedo, too.

It's actually an easy install only thing is pressing off and back on the pinion bearing I think. Other than that it's cake.

I had those gears in my 97 Cobra. Man it sure woke the car up! Felt like I added 50hp. I drove between Arlington and Austin for 2 years with that setup.

So, you regressed with your exhaust system by switching back to the restrictive, inefficient stock H-pipe from the off-road X-pipe. Now, you're jumping up to ridiculgear?

                      Uhhh... awesome?

That's pretty steep for the stock powerband. I think I would've gone 4.10s or 4.30s at the most.

Denny youve got it out for me dude! haha. I'm not going to cry over ten hp. I gained a little torque with the h, and made up a little ground with straight pipes. I'll gain that back with udp's and/or a tune. Besides, it sounds awesome.
