  • put a early 351w crank in a roller block

Cutting the slinger down is all it takes.
This is a practice crank I did it on.

Nice, I need to cut down the counter weights on a 8.7 deck crank that I have so I can put it in a 8.2 deck block, is that your lathe?

it's small, I thought about using it to clean up those counter weights but it's so large a diameter I can't work the tool post up to it where the weights are.

Ah bummer, was it scary spinning that out of balance heavy ass crank around on it?

nah, I put in the back gear, it was slow

It was about 40 rpm or less at full speed. No movement at all. Before I figured it out, it was moving the table a lot. At higher speed it would have been un-do-able. I have a DC drive on it so I can control the speed.
