Anyone have real world expierience with the ebay manual racks? What else am i gonna need on my 81

Well no shit, im assuming ill need the tie rods. My main question is will i need the ujoint or the entire shaft?

Google'n shows you can use your power steering tie rod ends. You could get away with just the universal joint if you can weld, which joint that is exactly, I'm not sure

Stock tie rod ends will work. 9/16 26 spline u joint 3/4 round welded To a cut stock shaft what I'm using on mustang II rack I got for $50. Hope that helps

I have one. I have installed 2 others on freinds cars. Work great and are very cheap. Now there is a fox rack for under $110 shipped to your door. You can use your current outer tie rods.. best thing to do for a shaft is get a 9/16" 26spline by 3/4" round u joint. Cut off the rag joint and weld the 3/4" end of the u joint on to the stock shaft. You can find the ujoint on ebay too..

If you go with the MII rack.. you need modified off set rack bushings.. by modified I mean you need to cut part of the bushing off.. I have the MII rack.

Been driving it for a year now.. I like it. I normally run 3.5"front runners. But had my 17x8 98 cobra wheels on for a few weeks and couldn't really tell the difference.
