Friend's son's truck they just bought has a rear tank issue. After driving it and shutting it down, u can he the tank hissing. You take the gas cap off, its sprays gas outward. (front tank doesnt work, so rear is all that they can use atm). I assumed that a tank vent is clogged or something. Your thoughts?

It would be more likely the vent for the evap canister, at least if it were late model. I'm not working today or I would pull up the vent system on alldata and see how it's laid out. Best I remember the vent goes through the roll over valve in the top of the tank and either vents to the atmosphere or through the charcoal canister. I dont think they had a vent solenoid and suckike late model emmissions. I had this problem with my Regal when I removed the charcoal canister and plugged the vent line. I pulled the fuel cap apart and modified the pressure relief springs so it would let the tank breath better. It had 2 spring load diaphrams for pressure and vacuum.Originally posted by YALE View PostClogged evap line?
