  • Anyone used PRW roller rockers?

Was wondeering if anyone had any experience with PRW brand roller rockers? I'm putting a set of the adjustable rockers in my '95 F150 along with the Trickflow Spring kit that works with the stock heads. I know it's kind of after the fact but though I'd ask anyway.

      Well, kind of.

I had to buy a rebuilt long block and I didn't know that the shop was going to ask for the cam out of my engine. They told me they reuse the roller cams since they hardly wear at all. I was replacing the engine because of oil starvation so I wasn't going to use my stock cam.

For the same price of a stock cam I decided to upgrade to a comp cam. What I didn't even think about was getting too much lift for the stock springs. It didn't hit me until I had the engine back and had it running. The new comp has a .533 lift. I also didn't know that most aftermarket cams have a smaller base circle. So once the stock rockers were put back on the thing sounded like a giant typewriter when running. No adjustment would get rid of it.

So I got the trick flow kit for the lift/possible valve float issue, and got the adjustable rockers to take care of the smaller base circle issue.

it takes a longer pushrod to fix that
Don't worry about what you can't change.

That's why I bought the rockers with the adjustable rod cap.

I've never used those, look nice . Just watch where the roller rides on the valve when you have the lash set.

This. Get some marking ink or something and run the valve through a few rotations by hand (wrench on the crank bolt) and check to make sure you've got it as centered as you can. Valvetrain geometry is important!
