Fiances POS Pacifica has a sensor that's fucked up and throwing a code. 2 mechanics have told me I have to get this done at the dealer which makes my asshole start bleeding just thinking about that.

I honestly don't know. I can find out again tomorrow morning, but I know it says it was the "in park sensor."

So what are the symptoms? Does it start? Drive? All the boxes lit up while in park?

The transmission range sensors are known issues on those cars, most of the time due to poor or rotten grounds.

It starts but when in Park, all the boxes are lit.

Take the front driver side tire off and look on the corner of the transmission. There is a ground wire that usually gets rotted away. If that checks out ok, then there is probably something with the Transmission Range Sensor itself. A dealership has the tool to test for input from those sensors, and OBD scan tool cannot do this

I've owned a handful as well. I just helped a friend change her battery. Horrible design.

What is wrong with a battery being mounted on the left outer frame rail, at the front edge? Not like they explode like a fucking bomb in a front end collision and get acid everywhere... Add another member for stating fuck those cars.
