  • Tpms question

Had some tires replaced now I can't get one of my tpms sensors to learn. I noticed they have the wheel weights on the inside of the wheel by the sensor. In wondering if this could be the problem or maybe I just need a new sensor.

weights does not mess with the sensors. first you need to make sure the pressure is at or above what the placard says. second i need to know what year make model of the car.

07 Silverado. Sensors are 8 yrs old so I'm gonna replace the one that's not communicating today. They were all working before the tires were switched. It's possible one was damaged during the swap. Thx for the help just wanted to make sure the wheel weights weren't the issue.

Right. I'd think damage during the swap as well, if it stopped communicating after you got new rubber.

that and gm sensors only last about 8-10 years so your right at the line of them going out. you should replace them all or your gonna be doing 1 at a time till there all done. when i worked at discount tire a guy came in and we replaced 2 and left with it all working then came back the next Monday cause the other 2 went out. was kinda funny.

VDO redi sensor fixed it. Guy at tire shop said the others wouldn't learn with his handheld. yeah right. I took it home and did it myself. If it won't learn its usually the sensor. Add or release air until horn honks. If it doesn't within 50 secs it's probably bad
