    does anyone know the value of the diode for an alternator exciter wire?

    I had to cut out a bad diode out and I can't read the value of it?

      Its just black from what I can tell but its corroded really bad so its hard to say what colors are on it if any.

        Just a guess, but might be a 1N5817 schottky barrier diode.
