Installing a single turbo on my foxbody soon (306, full bolt ons, fuel injected). What mufflers in your opinions that work best with a turbo set up? I've heard chambered mufflers are kind of a no no and that's what I have now (40 series flows) Let me know! Thanks in advance - James

depending on the turbo size and a lot of other factors, it can be really noisy without a true muffler.Originally posted by Tremor14 View Postyou are putting a muffler on it, shouldn't need a second set.
How quiet do you want it to be is a better question?"If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford

The mid pipe I'm going to get will have a built in cut-out. I'll probably use that with an electric cut out that I can obviously accuate any time. It'll be a 70mm single turbo.Originally posted by Baron Von Crowder View Postdepending on the turbo size and a lot of other factors, it can be really noisy without a true muffler.

Is that similar to magnaflow/dynomax?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G890A using TapatalkI had magnaflows at one point and liked them a lot actually...I've heard they're better for over head cam engines..?Originally posted by DennyI like the Dynomax Ultraflo, but MagnaFlows sound pretty good too.

magnaflows are just glasspacks...Originally posted by 86lxttop View Post

as are dynomax ultraflows

not a whole lot of rocket science involved

Different shapes, brands, cost, finish, accessibility. There are a lot of factors...I'll probably try to find some used or some less expensive ones new.Originally posted by Cooter View Postmagnaflows are just glasspacks...

Yes, but they're all just perforated tubes with material packed around them... you're not going to notice a performance difference between any of them.Originally posted by 86lxttop View PostDifferent shapes, brands, cost, finish, accessibility. There isn't one that's going to work better on an OHC engine vs a pushrod engine, for example
