  • Best muffler(s) for a fox turbo setup??

Installing a single turbo on my foxbody soon (306, full bolt ons, fuel injected). What mufflers in your opinions that work best with a turbo set up? I've heard chambered mufflers are kind of a no no and that's what I have now (40 series flows) Let me know! Thanks in advance - James

you are putting a muffler on it, shouldn't need a second set.

depending on the turbo size and a lot of other factors, it can be really noisy without a true muffler.

How quiet do you want it to be is a better question?

The car will still be loud as hell...I know turbos sort of muffle your car a bit but it won't be enough.

The mid pipe I'm going to get will have a built in cut-out. I'll probably use that with an electric cut out that I can obviously accuate any time. It'll be a 70mm single turbo.

                      Is that similar to magnaflow/dynomax?

I had magnaflows at one point and liked them a lot actually...I've heard they're better for over head cam engines..?

                        magnaflows are just glasspacks...

                        as are dynomax ultraflows

                        borlas

                        etc.

just go see OrangechevyII at Muffler King in Garland, tell him what you want, and let him work.

Yes, but they're all just perforated tubes with material packed around them... you're not going to notice a performance difference between any of them.

There isn't one that's going to work better on an OHC engine vs a pushrod engine, for example
