  • Crate engine pricing

Anyone work at a GM dealer? can you get a better deal on a GM crate engine than Jegs or Summit (jegs now due to sales tax).
    Looking at the SP 383.

What DJ said. ATK builds many of those for Summit and Jegs already, might as well go straight to the source.

Or if you want one of their competitors:

We give you more than just an engine — but engineering at its finest. And those who drive it, know it. The fanatics. The families. The thrill riders. The joy riders. And everyone in between. No matter who we serve, we share a genuine passion that unites us all on these streets, strips, or any stretch of road.

Should save you the tax since they are in Nebraska.

You might check with http://store.rydellpowertrain.com/ if you really just want a GM crate engine.

Rydell is a GM dealer, they probably have it in stock. If not them then I'd call Brown and Brown in Mesa, AZ. Those two and Scoggin Dickey sell more GM crate engines than any other dealer. There isn't a ton of margin on the performance crate engine side.

Thanks. Thats why I was hoping for a local hook up. I figured there might be some room to save on a hook up. I'm pretty sure thats the route I'm gonna go. I got all the stuff for a 350, but I'm feeling lazy

Which one did you get and did you like it ?

I'm on the fence, feeling lazy.
I have all the stuff needed to build a nice 350 (steel crank,Eagle H beams, Ross pistons, DART heads,etc...,
just thinking I should sell it all and buy the warrantied engine.

I think i'm gonna go with these guys..
Building high performance, turn-key crate engines for over 30 years. Now selling Short and Long Blocks, as well as the same high performance parts we build in our crate engines!

great reviews, all dynoed, 3 year warranty.

I bought a crate LS3, haven't started it yet, Its sitting in the vehicle but not ready to start.

You have to have a fairly radical SBC these days to compete with a mild LS engine.
