Who on here is good at changing out the plugs on a 06 F150 5.4 3v w/o breaking them off in the head. Looking for labor only.

Only the 04+ 5.4s had this issue as I recall. You can prob rent a lisle tool yourself, soak the plugs and pray they extract without breaking. I believe there is an updated pn for the 1 pc plugs nowComment

Change the plugs with the eng hot. We use a 3/8 impact to remove them at the shop on a hot engine. Haven't broken one since then in 3 years.1995 Cobra #404

How much tq does the one you use produce? I was concerned about having too much and snapping them apart. Do you soak the plugs first with something like B12 or Seafoam? I've got to do mine on my 2007 and I'm dreading it. It has about 90,000 miles now.Originally posted by TX_Snake View PostComment
