id go with an
o/r h pipe
8.8 w/ 3.73s
upper lower control arms w/ all new bushings
some lakewood drag shocks (or a similar setup)
torque boxes welded and subframes

once you get your suspension to par then start replacing the shitty procomp distributor with something of higher quality. that HEI shit needs to go

if i were you and the motor is as fresh as you say it is maybe a set of performer heads and some spray....you could figure out your lift clearance and toss a small cam in it but id spray the piss out of it and start building another motor that will accept a bigger cam then when your ready strip the heads off and sell the old one

This is going to be my daily and take my son to the track every now and then. He just turned 10 so I was wanting him and I to work on it togaghter then give it to him as his first car. But I have been out the game for awhile and needed some advice.

then heads everything i listed above. ditch that HEI dizzy and invest in all MSD shit. get something like a 6al so it has a rev limiter......thatll help protect the cherry so the youngun doesnt pop it just yet

Thanks for the advice, I am tring to get a list and start point but kind hard to do right know with the cash flow.But I'll mow yards and pick up trash if I have to, to get the cash so he and I can do it together.

Also, my fuel guage is stuck on half a tank. It wont go up or down. Whats the deal ?
