  • Cams?

The intelligent side of me has decided to avoid nitrous and build my engine correctly. I think I'm going to do comp cams instead and follow that with a shortrunner intake. I'll worry about a blower after college. Anyone ever done cams on a 4v?

Bang for the buck it's not the best mod. I would only do it if I were going for max n/a power and already had everything else done. Also, the best cams for n/a are not necessarily good for a blower if that's what you've got planned in the future.

This is what I was looking at. 44 hp, and valve springs aren't needed. With another 20 from a shortrunner, it seems pretty good n/a.

Never trust or believe a magazine article to be 100% fact. Their numbers are always skewed.

Yeah. I saw people on other boards pick up 30rw.

I'd much rather spend twice as much for actual hp, versus just 60 seconds.

I've got a stock Eaton you could swap on there instead.

Will the Eaton mate with the B heads?

It won't. I'd need c heads. Or I would be all over it. How much would it cost for c heads?

I didn't know if TrueStreet made an adapter or something. There appears to be a market for it (especially on SVTP). There's a thread (or at least used to be) every other week in the SN95 saying someone got a great deal on an Eaton and wants to know how to put it on their car.
